Session Description

The virtual workplace has come a long way from the traditional workplace. Today's employees can do great work from anywhere and leaders need to know how to keep team members connected, even when they are not in the same workspace. History shows great progress, great failures, and great resilience from leaders who are working to leverage all the tools available to enable their people to do their best work and live their best lives. In this session you will hear from two virtual leadership practitioners with over 60 years of experience. They will share with you the five crucial leadership lessons you will need to ensure a productive and engaged team as you navigate the virtual workplace. 


Kathy Kacher and Trina Hoefling

Kathy Kacher is the founder of Career/Life Alliance Services, co-founder of The SMART Workplace and has worked for over thirty years consulting with businesses on workforce transformation. Kathy is a faculty member at World at Work teaching Organizational Culture Change along with other key competencies organizations need to stay relevant in the fast-changing world of work. As a frequently requested, global speaker, Kathy shares her expertise in developing high functioning teams and organizations by optimizing their cultural business strategy. Kathy has a track record of partnering with senior teams and key talent to create competitive advantage through people. Particularly skilled in conducting organizational diagnostics; leading cultural integrations, branding & change initiatives; advising and coaching leaders; employee engagement & leadership development processes; and implementing innovation & growth strategies. 

Trina Hoefling has been transforming the workplace virtually for 33 years since developing virtual management training for Boeing, AT&T, and JP Morgan. She is co-founder of The SMART Workplace, which helps organizations, teams and individuals be agile in a mobile workplace. Trina is also a master teacher at the University of Denver, where she teaches graduate school students 100% online. In 2017 Trina released the 2nd edition of Working Virtually: Transforming the Mobile Workplace and recently completed a global tour on virtual leadership engagement.
