Is HR Consulting Your Next Chapter?
Lessons from a Start-up HR Consultant

Session Description

It was 2017 and I was at the top of my game. I had made it to the executive ranks. It’s exactly where I thought I wanted to be as a young college graduate nearly 18 years earlier. During that time I began working on a formal coaching certification and working with an executive coach. That’s when it finally dawned on me that I was successful, but I wasn’t thriving. I had achieved worldly success, but to what end…I was drowning in corporate politics and games.
By June of 2018, I formed my own consulting and coaching firm, HR Consultants of Denver. Without any entrepreneurial experience, I took a big leap of faith and bet on myself. It was (and remains) a bold move. My new purpose is to do good work, for good people.

In this session I will pull back the curtain and show you behind the scenes, including:
• Pros and cons of being a small business owner
• How to legally set up your business
• Remaining a shop of one vs. hiring a team to work for you
• Keeping things simple while remaining profitable (DIY websites to help you keep overhead low)
