Meet the Coaches
Amy is an engaging author and editor. In addition to her work with Personal Touch Career Services where she is one of the Staff Writers and Sales Representatives, she ghost-writes for blogs, websites, social media accounts and newsletters. She specializes in brand creation and management for companies and individuals of all sizes and shapes. She grew up as a free-range kid on a rural island in the Pacific Northwest, then migrated south to attend Scripps College in California. She worked in politics in Washington, D.C. six years before moving with her family to Denver, Colorado. Amy is also a recent graduate of Lighthouse Writers Book Project and an avid fiction reader and writer of all genres.
Shawnna Earnest, is an experienced human resource professional with over 20 years in the HR field and is a Sr. Transition Career Coach with ICC. From resumes to navigating the interview and offer process, Shawnna provides an individualistic approach to helping each client transition during what may be a difficult time, with pride and confidence. She balances compassion and empathy with accountability and action, and works closely with clients to find their inner strengths, and enhance self-awareness. Shawnna encourages her clients to use their authentic self to connect their passions, purpose and values to their career search.

Reagan Freed is an accomplished HR executive with over 20 years of experience and uses her expertise to support small businesses and nonprofits in the Denver and Boulder communities. Reagan is actively engaged with the HR community currently serving as Past President for the Boulder HR Association (BAHRA) and as District Director for the Colorado State HR Council. Reagan is passionate about helping emerging HR leaders find their passion and strengths within the HR function and demonstrating their value to the business.
Senior Transition Coach, ICC
As a Career Transition professional with ICC -Innovate Coach Consult, Gail provides Outplacement Counseling and Career Development coaching to all levels of employees in transition. Specific expertise includes resume development, interview training and practice, assessment of job skills/interests and career research and marketing. She is an experienced facilitator of career transition workshops and one on one counseling sessions for clients in all industries.
Prior to joining ICC, Gail spent over ten years in outplacement counseling with Lee Hecht Harrison, Right Management and Joy Reed Belt & Associates (Oklahoma City, OK), where she was Director of Outplacement Services. She began her career with JP Morgan in NYC in commercial banking and international recruiting, moved into Executive Search with a team from Russell Reynolds & Associates and served as Chief Administrative Officer for a start-up biotech company developing an AIDS and other vaccines.
Currently, Gail is an active Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and was formerly a Board Member of the Women’s Bean Project for six years where she served on the Governance and Program Committees and as Board Chair. She co-founded a mentor program for the participants and is currently a member of their capital campaign committee.
Gail is a graduate of Smith College with a degree in Economics and Political Science.
Darren Kanthal is an experienced career coach, combining a passion for developing leaders with a deep expertise in the career process and over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition – a triple threat in the industry. A New Yorker at heart, Darren has a uniquely unapologetic, yet compassionate style and his individualized, results-oriented approach helps leaders show up as the best versions of themselves at every stage of their career.
A Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), Melissa Kelley is a writer, coach, and business development manager for the Personal Touch Career Services. Prior to joining the company in 2015, she held more than 10 years of successful resume and LinkedIn development work on behalf of U.S. and international clients. Over the years, Melissa has helped a wide range of clients, including students, blue-collar professionals, IT specialists, and C-suite executives. She is especially skilled in working with job seekers who want to change careers entirely. Melissa is PTCS ’s recognized expert on federal, military, and military-to-civilian transition resumes as well as curriculum vitae.
A staff writer for the Personal Touch Career Services, Dia Kline is an experienced public speaker, speaking coach, actor, writer, and comedian. She writes speeches, stand up sets, blog posts and self-produces entertaining and educational videos about congenital anosmia (loss of sense of smell). She prides herself on having never met a system she can’t hack or a rule she can’t break. Having grown up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she left “The City Different” as fast as she could and has been living in Boulder, Colorado ever since. Her degree from CU Boulder, Art History/Italian Minor, hasn’t helped gain her meaningful employment but at least she is fun to talk to.
A multi-discipline content creator for Fortune 500 technology companies, and a former award-winning singer-songwriter and touring musician, Barbara joined Personal Touch Career Services in 2020 as a “Resumé Writer for Creatives” to support arts & entertainment clients. With a B.A. in music and all-grade education, along with 10+ years’ experience as a contractor and consultant, Barbara also provides career coaching to contractors, freelancers, and consultants who want to advance in their career path or establish and grow their own businesses.
As a former corporate recruiter, Donna Shannon is an expert at navigating the HR maze. Since 2004, she has taught workshops based on simple yet effective techniques to land a job. Her acclaimed book, “Get a Job Without Going Crazy (3rd Ed)” provides a practical and entertaining guide for the modern job seeker. As the President and CEO of The Personal Touch Career Services, Donna leads a team of talented writers and coaches to help job seekers represent themselves better.
