HR Toolkit: Re-imagining Performance and Incentives for a Distributed Workforce

Session Description

The phrase "business as usual" is becoming a thing of the past.  As we develop and adjust in the new COVID-19 world, many companies are realizing that current and past performance standards simply are not realistic anymore.  Employees that work from home full time can get the job done on a flexible schedule (and if they are parents, most times they must!).  Companies with blue-collar and front-line employees seek a new way to support their staff when their workforce is more distributed than usual. In this roundtable, you can discuss how your colleagues are handling these new changes in our environment and brainstorm new ideas to measure your workforce’s performance, engagement and productivity, while at the same time preventing burnout and turnover.

Nicole Davies

Passion trumps fear.  Nicole Davies, VP of Talent Optimization for Valet Living, delivers hundreds of presentations a year.  Who would have thought that just 25 years ago she had a paralyzing fear of public speaking!  As a person who has always preferred listening to talking, Nicole splits her time between leading the learning, talent and performance teams of a billion + dollar organization with managing a robust executive coaching business.

Passion trumps fear.  In her various roles Nicole has worked to redefine talent and performance management.  She has successfully eliminated performance reviews in her current organization, replacing them with monthly performance conversations.  Nicole also replaced her company’s classroom-based leadership development programs with virtual, cohort-based social learning experiences.

Passion trumps fear.  Nicole is on a mission to include the entire alphabet in her list of certifications.  The current list includes: SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CPC, ACC, CCP… and she is a certified doula.  If you are counting, that is 11 letters down.  15 to go.

Passion trumps fear.  In her free time, Nicole loves to push the limits of her determination.  Having climbed the highest peak in over 20 countries, Nicole loves to experience the world from its tallest vantage points.  Most of those trips have been solo adventures.
