Are you looking to fast-track your HR career? Looking to break into the industry or continue to grow your career? Are you a seasoned professional looking to give back and support developing HR leaders? 

The Mile High SHRM Mentor Program is for you!

The Mile High SHRM Mentoring Program connects early- and mid-career HR professionals with experienced mentors for a structured, 10-month partnership designed to build skills, confidence, and community. 

 

Why Participate?  

Mentoring is a proven way to enhance job satisfaction, expand networks, and accelerate professional growth—for both mentees and mentors.

  • Mentees gain support in navigating career goals, certifications, transitions, and workplace challenges.
  • Mentors sharpen their leadership, coaching, and communication skills while making a meaningful impact.

 

Program Overview:

Duration: 10 months

Meeting Frequency: Recommended twice monthly (minimum once per month). Participants coordinate their own meeting schedules and format once matched.

Matching Process: are based on mentee goals and mentor experience, skills, and background. 

Checkpoints: Built-in touchpoints to support and evaluate progress, as well as opportunities to connect with others in the program for enhanced learning opportunities.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

All participants must:

  • Be an active Mile High SHRM member for the full duration of the program.
  • Be actively engaged in an HR role or in transition seeking a new HR role.
  • Commit to regular meetings and responsive communication.
  • Agree to program guidelines, checkpoints, and a respectful, professional code of conduct. 

 

Suggested Mentor Qualifications:

These are guidelines vs strict requirements. We welcome diverse experience levels and backgrounds.

  • 5–10 years of progressive HR experience
  • Passion for developing others and advancing the HR profession
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
  • Prior coaching or mentoring experience a plus

HR-adjacent professionals (e.g., coaches, consultants, OD practitioners) are encouraged to apply.

  • Help mentees set and achieve career goals, strengthen HR capabilities, and gain practical insights

  • Provide mentors opportunities to grow as leaders and coaches

  • Foster inclusive, supportive relationships within the Mile High SHRM network

  • Exchange ideas, best practices, and trends in the evolving HR landscape

Career Navigation

  • Support mentees through job transitions, certification prep, and workplace challenges

  • Uphold SHRM’s commitment to creating a safe, welcoming space for all participants
