2027 HR Conference Details

Mile High SHRM is excited to host the 25th Annual HR Conference on February 19, 2027 at the Colorado Convention Center. We anticipate 400+ HR professionals for the in-person event. A virtual platform will be made available as well allowing the speakers ample opportunities to connect with our members.  Come with your most engaging ideas and topics!  Don’t hold back!

  • Keynote  - 60 minutes (45 minutes content and 15mts Q&A)
  • Concurrent sessions - 60 minutes (45 minutes content and 15mts Q&A, 4 sessions run concurrently)

Our conference will feature four tracks:

  • Legal and Ethical Practices for Future Workplace - Designed for sessions addressing compliance, employment law, I&D, ethics, and emerging workplace legislation.  This track equips HR professionals with tools to navigate legal complexities and uphold ethical standards in the evolving world of work. 
  • HR Essentials: Mastering the Fundamentals - Mastering the Fundamentals: This track focuses on the core building blocks of HR eg. recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.  This track is perfect for foundational content that helps HR professionals strengthen and scale essential processes.
  • Technical Solutions for HR - Explore how technology is transforming the HR function from Ai in recruiting and people analytics to HRIS platforms and automation tools.  Sessions will focus on digital innovation and practical tech solutions to improve HR efficiency, accuracy and strategic impact.
  • Power Skills for HR Leaders - This track centers on the human side of HR leadership by focusing on communication, influence, change management, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking to help HR professionals lead with confidence, inspire teams, and drive culture.

Please note that the speaker budget for the event is determined annually by our Board of Directors. For this year, the typical honorarium for only our keynote speaker is expected to be in the range of $1,000 to $3,000. We kindly request that proposals reflect an understanding of this budget range, as it allows the Board to allocate resources responsibly and sustain the quality of our events. We appreciate your consideration in aligning your proposal expectations with these guidelines.

Other Speaking Opportunities

In addition to the annual conference, Mile High SHRM has many other speaking opportunities throughout the year.  By completing your submission for the conference, you are also included in our list of speakers for these other opportunities.  We may reach out to you during the year with speaking opportunities for these other events.  See descriptions below.  
  • Lunch and Learn Webinars events provide opportunities for a variety of relevant topics in the HR community.  We provide up 12 webinars a year. 
  • Half-day Forums are designed to give attendees fresh ideas, practical tools, and cutting-edge insights, ensuring they stay up-to-date in the ever-evolving world of HR. We anticipate multiple half-day conferences in 2026.
  • My Career Accelerator Program (MCAP) focuses on personal development for HR professionals looking to advance their career into a leadership role. We are looking for speakers who specialize in content on professional development, self-branding, communication and self-awareness. 
  • Senior HR Leader Peer Group is tailored for HR leadership including Directors, CHROs, and VPs, offers a unique blend of peer collaboration, expert insights, and personalized coaching.

The requirements for presentations vary, but generally they need to qualify for educational credits through SHRM and HRCI. Mile High SHRM will facilitate the certification process.

At this time, Mile High SHRM does not generally compensate speakers, however, we may consider providing assistance for out of state travel on a case by case basis.


Submitting Your Proposal

Below is information that will be needed for submitting future proposals for reference purposes.

Proof of Performance

We require you to submit video proof of your speaking style and presentation skills via a web link to YouTube, Vimeo or other video sharing programs. Video clips of you presenting at a conference or class are the preferred Proof of Performance. Clips of you marketing yourself, business, or service are not acceptable. Failure to submit proof of performance will eliminate you from consideration.

Certification

All presentations will be submitted to SHRM and HRCI for re-certification credit. Mile High SHRM will facilitate this process.
