2020 HR Conference Details

Our annual HR Conference will be held on January 31, 2020 at the Denver Marriott Tech Center. We anticipate 350+ HR professionals. The theme is What Lies Ahead - Navigating the Future of HR.

Other Speaking Opportunities

Throughout the year, Mile High SHRM calls on leading HR and business thought leaders to present information of great value to its membership. Presentation opportunities include Professional Development Groups, Monthly Member Programs, and Sponsored Webinars:

  • Each year we hold up to 20 Professional Development Groups that provide speaking opportunities on a variety of different topics.
  • There are approximately eight Monthly Member Programs each year. These events offer networking, breakfast, lunch, or happy hour followed by a speaker presentation. 
  • Sponsored Webinars provide organizations the opportunity to advertise their business and present their own HR content to the membership for a fee of $800. Webinar hosts receive promotion on our website including logo placement, post-attendee distribution list, and the opportunity to share their contact information with attendees. Great visibility for your company! To date, this has been a successful means of educating and reaching our professionals with attendance of 40+ HR Professionals per session. These events are frequently also promoted statewide to other chapters of COSHRM.

The requirements for presentations vary, but generally they need to qualify for educational credits through SHRM and HRCI. Mile High SHRM will facilitate the certification process.

At this time, Mile High SHRM does not compensate speakers or provide reimbursement for their expenses.


Submitting Your Proposal

Proof of Performance
Video clips of you presenting at a conference or class are the preferred Proof of Performance. Clips of you marketing yourself, business, or service are not acceptable. Failure to submit proof of performance or references that can attest to performance will eliminate you from consideration.

Deadline
Proposals must be received no later than close of business on Thursday, August 1, 2019

Certification
All presentations will be submitted to SHRM and HRCI for re-certification credit. The Education Committee will facilitate this process. Programs providing "business" credit are highly desired by many of our experienced leaders.

Examples of programs that receive Business and HR Strategy/Business Management & Strategy credit include those that:

  • Support participants' knowledge of business functions such as finance, marketing, sales, or operations 
  • Develop skills in strategic planning, critical thinking, influencing, negotiation, and leadership
  • Enable participants to have an impact on their organizations' mission, vision, values, bottom line, policies, or strategic goals and objectives

Programs that receive GPHR credit are geared towards the Human Resources professional/business leader who is operating in a multi-national organization.

Practical Application
Sessions that include practical tools and models that can be applied on the job without an investment in additional training or a specific technology are popular with our audience. Models for evaluating training, technology, or other business investments are also useful.

Proven Speaking Ability
We strongly encourage you to submit video proof of your speaking style and presentation skills (web link to YouTube, Vimeo or other video-sharing programs).

Our next RFP will be available in 2020 to identify speakers for future opportunities.

If you have indicated an interest in other events, your submission will be considered until the next RFP. You will automatically be notified in 2020 when the next Request for Proposal is distributed.
